The MILL, a 40 bed residential treatment center and a therapeutic day school for abused, neglected and at risk youth is currently seeking candidates for several positions. All positions require the candidates be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and a clean driving record. Candidates must also be able to pass a DCFS (Department of Children and Family Service) background check in addition to a health physical, including a TB and post offer drug test. OPEN POSITIONS

EDUCATION

 

  • Educational Psychologist (part-time) Experience with Special-Ed students and IEP development required.

 

  • Reading Specialist Needs to be certified teacher (Elementary, Secondary, Special Ed) and have a Master’s Degree from approved Reading Specialist program and pass reading specialist test. That is the state definition for No Child Left Behind.

 

  • Special Elementary Education Teachers (2 FT) - The Special Elementary Education Teacher will be responsible for instructing students in one or more subjects in accordance with the cognitive behavior model, developing appropriate curriculum, IEP's and lesson plans to fit treatment methodology and ensure quality education, employing a variety of teaching techniques in order to fit the needs and learning styles of the students. Developing methods for measuring how effectively educational techniques are working. Maintaining discipline in the classroom and on the grounds in accordance with cognitive behavior model. Accurately recording all test results and ensures appropriate documentation forms are in place while maintaining timely and accurate entries into the daily logs. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in education and an Illinois Teacher Certification. Certified by the Illinois State Board of Education, BD, LD, type 10 certification or approval.

TREATMENT SERVICES

 

  • Clinical Director (FT) Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    Supervises clinical staff with a supervision load of 7
    Carries a clinical case load.
    Provides weekly group and individual supervision.
    Maintains a positive relationship with referral sources and appropriate systems
    Works in conjunction with other treatment staff and community providers to support and implement treatment goals of clients.
    Overseeing the discharge planning including referral and linkage services and approved aftercare services for clients.
    Is responsible to fulfill all Medicaid component requirements and documentation at 100% compliance
    CRS responsibilities
    Education and Experience:
    Masters Degree in Human Service field.
    Must be licensed, LCSW or LCPC, and have 2 years post licensure experience with adolescents.

 

  • Clinicial Therapist (FT) The Clinician Therapist consistently inspires group members to build a concerned group by instructing, redirecting, guiding and motivating the group, while always making the group responsible for working on its problems. Demonstrates respect and concern for the problems of others thus gaining their confidence and trust. Demonstrates the ability to effectively facilitate therapy sessions using the cognitive behavior model. Master’s degree (M.A.) from college or university in Human Service field, minimum of two years related experience preferred, and must have excellent communication skills.

 

  • CRISIS RESPONSE SUPERVISOR (FT)
    Must be Flexible Day & Night Hours.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain the security of the building by responding and supervising crisis situations. Monitor the appropriateness and safety of behavior management techniques and ensuring all paperwork is completed. Understand the agency’s fire and tornado drill/alarm procedures and directing staff and residents during these times. This also includes coordinator with the Fire Department. Monitor or ensure monitoring of all elopement risks and attempts. This includes coordinating with the Police Department and other reporting agencies when a resident elopes from the building. Zoning staff to meet the ratio of residents to staff to allow the appropriate supervision of residents. Coordinate with the on-call manager in cases when staffing is not appropriate. Coordinating with Janet Wattles SASS program when an evaluation for psychiatric hospitalization is warranted. Support the Psych Techs in terms of completing any Injury Report Forms and submitting them to Human Resources. Review and edit Unusual Incident Reports generated by staff. Distribute meds to youth according the prescribed schedules, if applicable. Communicate all relevant details of the shift to next supervisor in charge of the building. Performs other duties/functions as requested by supervisory personnel.
    Education and Experience: Bachelors degree or 5 years experience in a residential facility.

 

  • Milieu Manager (FT) Directly supervises a team of Psychiatric Technicians. Oversees the daily functioning of the unit in terms of staff schedules, activity schedules, and expectations, consistency of staff implementing the program, and insuring the needs of the clients are being met. Maintains communication with Milieu Director, Case Manager and Clinician to ensure continuity and effectiveness of the treatment program. On call responsibilities.
    Education and experience: Five (5) years residential experience, or Bachelor’s degree in Social Service field with residential experience.
    Hours: Evening and weekend hours.

 

  • Psychiatric Technicians (FT/PT 2nd/3rd shift) If you are looking to build a foundation in social service in which to grow from, this is the place to start. This direct care provider serves as the nuts and bolts of the agency in providing care and treatment to the clients. Ideal candidates must possess a high school diploma/GED. Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred.

 

  • Expressive Therapist The Expressive Therapist will develop positive relationships with their group and individual clients that imparts respect and concern for problems, which group members have, and gains their confidence and trust as evidenced by expressive therapy. Provides client counseling and consultation services to individual clients and families, which promote client stabilization within the community setting. Works directly in conjunction with other clinicians in planning to help implement and support treatment goals of all clients. Responsible to fulfill all Medicaid component requirements and documentation at 100%. Master's Degree (M.A.) with emphasis in expressive therapies from college or university in Human Services.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)(FT 2nd shift)
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    Able to administer basic health care to adolescents Participates in medical examinations and reviews findings to evaluate health status of students in cooperation with Agency personnel in identifying and meeting social, emotional, and physical needs of students Facilitates immunizations and maintains health records of students Maintains student medical records in compliance with the Agency, DCFS, state, and other agencies Assists the RN in compiling monthly medical summary sheet, individual medical report forms, and updates student medical logs Maintains Medicaid data May transport students to medical, dental appointments, or other medical related appointments and in situations of emergency Inventories and assists the RN is ascertaining needs for supplies and equipment Performs a variety of clerical functions requiring analysis, judgment, and knowledge of Agency policies and procedures Acts as a liaison between Agency and medical providers Education and Experience:
    Must be licensed in Illinois. Residential experience preferred. CPR/First Aid instructor certification a plus
  • Recreation Counselor/Therapist (FT)
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    Structure therapeutic activities according to clients’ mental health and/or behavioral needs (camping, hiking, cross country skiing, swimming, canoeing, fishing, rope courses, etc.) Collaborate with members of a treatment team in planning activities Direct and personally participate in all activities Observe clients’ reactions to activities and provide interventions Responsible for requisitioning and keeping inventory of all recreational equipment Responsible to complete and meet Medicaid deadlines 100% of the time Must be available and willing to work weekends, some evenings, and during school breaks Other duties as assigned
    Education and Experience:
    Bachelors Degree in Human Services field, preferably in therapeutic recreation
